COCAFCAL wants to offer its customers the best quality coffee under international certification standards. After beginning the certification process with OCIA and selling the first container of organic coffee to Elan Organic Coffee, CA, in 2005 the cooperative began to seek out other certification options.

Currently the cooperative holds the following certifications:

Organic coffee – certified Biolatina since 2006

Fairtrade – according to the FLO regulations since 2009

Rainforest Alliance - guaranteeing improvements in agriculture, e.g. by strict guidelines protecting the environment, wildlife, workers and local communities since 2006
